First up the betting for the FA-cup final. The odds of 1/3 City win, 4/1 the draw and 8/1 for a Wigan win suggest this will be more like a cricket score then a football result. Its the biggest match Wigan have ever played, they have been wrote off before they have even kicked a ball. Nobody gives them a chance and that allows them to play with a freedom and they will like the wide open spaces of the wembley pitch. The problem is for all the attacking possession football they enjoy they have awful problems at the back. The tip has to be a City win at 1/3 though nothing is to be gained from them odds unless you are putting it in an accumulator. Ive a feeling wigan will scrore so my bet of the day is both teams to score at 11/10

Should be an exciting weekend to look forward to in the premiership. First up the saturday luchtime game. Lots riding on it for both teams. A win for Villa at 10/3 will guarantee there stay in the league for another season. A win for chelsea at 5/6 will confirm there place in the top 4 and champions league footy. With the Europa League final on wednesday what team will Rafa put out. The intensity of the game with Spurs might have taken its toll and some of the players and with the distraction of the europa final and villas attacking power the draw at 5/2 seems the value bet.

Stoke have guaranteed safety so the pressure is off them however all the pressure is on spurs. They simply have to win to stay in the champions league hunt. With all the murmerings of discontent at pulis in recent months, a trip to stoke isnt as intimidating as it once was. The bet for me is a spurs win at 9/10

The news that shook the world happened this week. Fergie retiring and moyes being the new man at old trafford. To me this is going to have a bigger impact for everton who have a massive task of appointing someone to a job where the predessor has consistently over a 10 year period punched above his weight. Moyes will get a great send off from the everton fans and im expecting an everton win. A bet you can get at 1/2

Fulham can still be relegated but i cant see them going down. Last weeks lost to reading at home is not what the home fans have come to expect from a Fulham side at home. Martin Jol knowledge of the european leagues is second to none and whilst the players may not be household names they do a job for the manager. This match is a very hard one to call with all three outcomes possible, Liverpool missing gerrard for the 1st time in the league this season as well as agger is a blow. Rodgers may throw a few youngsters in with virtually nothing to play for. With fulham still not safe and jol wanting an improved display after the loss for reading the tip is a fulham win at 14/5

Norwich need a win in front of the home fans but they are in bad form just at the wrong time of the year. The last gasp loss to villa and lambert would have hit them hard. They are struggling at both ends of the park but expect a big atmosphere at carrow road for one last big push for safety. They may be helped by clarke looking to experiment with his team in the last few weeks of the season. My bet would be norwich win at 6/5

QPR and Newcastle are two teams that have struggled all season. But for cisse’s goals this newcastle team would be already relegated like QPR. Newcastle will be desperate for a result and harry will be hoping to sign off from the premier league with a home win for the fans. My bet is both teams to score at 4/6

One thing you can say about di canio is that he has got the players wound up to play for him. The red cards are not helping the cause though. Southanpton were very unlucky against spurs last week and put for a wonder goal from bale would have got a deserved point. Thats my tip for this fixture too at 23/10

Fergie’s last home game in charge, weve only waited 26 years to say that. One outcome only and thats the betting of a 1/3 man utd win and the end of an era

All the Weekend Results

Yes you read it correctly. These are the full Premier League results for last week-end. Only two games survived the extreme and unusual freezing and blizzard conditions.

Sunderland 1 – 0 Bolton Wanderers

The result sums up the positions of both teams in the Premier League with Sunderland sitting 6th and Bolton in 7th place. Danny Welbeck made a fine header in the 32nd minute to give Sunderland the points and to leap-frog Bolton from 7th to 6th place before a crowd of 35,101. Sunderland travel to Manchester for their Boxing Day match with Manchester United. Man Utd are clear favourites at 30/100 with Sunderland at 12/1. The draw could be a possibility at 5/1. Bolton Wanderers meet West Bromwich Albion on Boxing Day in what should be a close fought match. Bolton are favourites at 6/5 with West Brom on 3/1. The draw at 5/2 is worth a bet.

Blackburn Rovers 1 – 1 West Ham United

Blackburn should have made a better job of this fixture given their relative positions in the Premier League. Blackburn are 12th while West Ham are at the bottom of the league. In other words this is a pretty good result for West Ham. However sitting at the bottom of the league is not a good place to be. You only get a view of everyone else’s back side. Blackburn scored first though Ryan Nelsen in 51 minutes. West Ham responded in the 78th minute through Junior Stanislas. As you might appreciate, the Blackburn fans were not best pleased. Caretaker manager Steve Kean did not improve his prospects of landing the full-time job at Ewood Park. Blackburn meet Stoke at the week-end with both team sitting 12th and 13th respectively. Blackburn are 5/4 favourites with Stoke on 12/4. The draw at 12/5 is worth consideration given Blackburn’s slip-up this week-end.

Coming Week-End Choices

The week-end fixtures if it happens will look like this for me.

Blackpool v Liverpool

As you know I have been following both of these teams and my loyalty is a bit divided for this match. Liverpool are just ahead of Blackpool at 9th and 10th place respectively. This is a close match on paper with Liverpool favourites at 4/5. Blackpool are 4/1 and the draw is forecast at 3/1. This Premier League is so up-in-the-air and Liverpool are still fragile that this game could go any way. I would go for the draw on this occasion, if it happens.

Fulham v West Ham United

This bottom of the table fixture is a must for West Ham. They need to dig in and get the points if relegation is to pass them by. We are almost at the half-way stage and it is time to think about (avoiding) relegation. Fulham are evens for this match with West Ham on 100/30 for the win. The draw is 5/2 and this would be my bet of the week-end. Go for it.

Premiership betting tips:Fulham v Liverpool-Liverpool pulled off a great performance against their bitter rivals Manchester United last Sunday , with Fulham fighting back against Manchester City to earn a well deserved point.  The Reds will be without Gerrard again and right back Johnson will miss the game too.  It was a big result for Liverpool last week but these are the games which they have struggled to win so far this season.  You can back the draw at 12/5 (3.45)on Betfair, a Liverpool win is 21/20 (2.04) and a Fulham win at odds of 7/2 (4.4)

Fulham have shown that they are a tough team to beat and Liverpool may find this a tricky fixture (only scoring in the last minute last season to win 1-0).  Backing the draw is tempting, but lets take a risk and go for a Fulham win, lay Liverpool if you don’t like the risk factor (so you win if Liverpool draw or lose).

Aston Villa v Fulham-Out of 8 Premiership games, Fulham have never beaten Aston Villa at Villa Park.  Villa have won 5 and the rest have been draws.  The Cottagers will have to look back to 1973 to the last time they beat Villa in the league.

Premiership Betting tip- Aston Villa will be dissapointed about Thursday night’s exit from Europe, but they will have confidence in the league after beating Liverpool at Anfield. on Monday night  They also have the advantage over Fulham of playing their European tie at home, whereas Fulham had to take trip to Russia.  Back VIlla to win on Betfair, you can get odds of 1.81 (4/5).
